The Danish Police Sport Federation (Dansk Politiidrætsforbund) was entrusted by the Union Sportive des Polices d'Europe (USPE) with the organisation of the USPE European Police Championship Handball Men 2016.

A sport, where Denmark has a boasts long tradition and where Denmark in the latest championship in 2012 in Göppingen, Germany, became 2nd in the final after the host nation Germany.

Denmark has at all proud traditions in this particular sport in which Denmark has previously been European champion. The last championship was won at the European Championship in 1992 in Norway.

This Championship is conducted in cooperation with the Police Sports clubs in Mid and West Jutland Police District and the matches will take place in Silkeborg in the beautiful home arena of the handball club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg. The arena is named Jysk Arena.

The accommodation takes place at the nearby glitzy hotel Scandic Silkeborg, where all the players and managers will be accommodated during the championships.

The Championship will take place from May 29 to June 5, with arrival on 29th May and matches on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Rest day Thursday, semi-finals on Friday, and finals and banquet Saturday. Departure on Sunday.

The following 8 teams are qualified for the championships - besides the host nation Denmark - Germany, France, Norway, Hungary, Austria, Greece and Switzerland.
